Are you a Male? Congrats!!!

What would be your reaction if you were happened to face any danger? well there are some options in front of you to do as like fight against it, surrender(!!!), run away from it etc., whatever maybe the action, the recent scientific (funny) brain scan study in Poland on men and women, like how they respond differently to danger. They have approached 21 men and 19 women for this study and finally concluded that men showed activity in dealing the situation of what action needs to be taken to confront the danger or to avoid it, whereas women were emotionally sensed in those kind of circumstances. Men and women were given an images of objects and images from ordinary life designed to evoke different emotional states and their brain activities were monitored.
The study has been conducted in two different schedules, for the first one, only positive images and other were only negative. Men showed more activity in an area of the brain called the left insula, which plays a key role in controlling involuntary functions, including respiration and heart rate. This does not tells that men will always fight against it, but their brain works soon to either run away from the danger or confront it. this is so called, "Fight or Flight Response!!!". But conversely men responds to be less emotional. Anyways Kudos for the one who tends to fight, and those who tends to start run, double Kudos for you (well, your brain acts very faster nah!!!)

HP: Geared with the ultimate Horse Power.

Even though the global recession has affected many US companies and got down to the hell in the recent years, doesn't make any impact on Hewlett Packard (HP) believe so!!! What makes me say this is because of its acquisition among the graded organisations and the revenues which is told by its quarterly results. I can say HP(Horse Power!!!) has geared top in the IT race. Obviously last year's great acquisition was Mphasis' parent EDS. The annual revenue of Rs. 4,283.3 crore, shows the erstwhile mid-tier IT company is fast moving into the top league of IT exporters. Mphasis' stellar performance was largely a result of its association with Hewlett Packard (HP). And because of this, 2009 has been the year of resurrection for Mphasis. And its not ended up with this alone but acquired 3COM technologies last month as well as the Indian software division of AIGSS in August'09. The full impact of AIGSS' acquisition would be visible in the next quarter. Apart from having bought the organizations, HP has also bagged a lot of projects for it's various childhood concerns. It will not stop with this and hope will get more and more in near future I guess and now it stands sixth in the IT pecking order. Its damn sure that any concern which comes under HP, will boom like anything including the stocks like Mphasis, provides a healthy competition among the software giants.

Red Alert: An Impending Disaster on the Cards...

You might have heard the awareness lectures about the global warming and related stuff which is said to be one of the major cause for the mass destruction and the unprecendeted deterioration of the Earth's age. But how many of us aware about its effects in depth and ready to care or cure it? Researchers have already warned us about a prospective disaster has already begun in Antarctic (ice) ocean which is started melting and another equally threatening disaster is on the cards. Scientists from a gravity-measuring satellite mission stated that the East Antarctic ice sheets has been losing its mass for the last three years. The scientists themselves wondered about the finding because the East Antarctic giant has been thought to be stable unlike the west. The critical issue which makes the researchers worried about is, the West Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets are already losing their mass through melting. These two regions of ice itself contains enough water level to raise the sea level about 20feet (six to seven meters) and if East Antarctica would have added, then the effect will be abnormal but the scene has started since 2006 and it may cause the sea level to raise about 50 feet approximately. They felt surprised to see the changes in the East Antarctica but the loss is still less in contrast with the West Antarctica. But measuring Antarctic ice loss is not that much easy as we think because the continent itself is rising and deforming. But the thing is its not melting only because of high temperature since the air temperatures are well below zero, but the lakes under the ice sheet starts overflow and caused glaciers to speed up their way towards the sea.

This caution awakens us to the fact that the East Antarctic sheet is more effective than what we thought and we need to pay attention to it since its potential to raise the sea level is so much greater than West Antarctica as well as Greenland. Unfortunately we are also responsible for this major cause but there is nothing much to do now and we got to prepare ourselves to face the consequences.

Losing an Invaluable Treasure???

The most awaited answer to the question is still a myth among the world business dons and I am sure anyone will be ready to bet their money on that. And the question is who will be the next head of the great Indian business giant Tata Groups, and the one and only person who knows the solution is none other than Mr.Ratan Tata, the chairman of the 98 companies together under an umbrella, called Tata Groups. Ratan Tata is going to retire by 2012 and he is in the process of formalising his successor. The news claims that the most respected group with economic nationalism is expected to be headed by a foreigner, which is really a shocking one for all the predictors. In an interview, Tata stated that the most of the revenues comes from the overseas and it could also be an expatriate sitting in that position. Its obvious that the company has reached the global presence and in the searching process, some outside consultants also in the race since they are looking both inside and outside the organisation.
The successor maybe expected as young as he or she could be ideally in his 40's and should get atleast 18 months to two years of experience as successor before taking over the responsibility. Even the members from Tata's family are also in the race, its still an ultimate riddle that who will be the successor of the business magnate. Anyways I am also eagerly waiting for the date to be announced legally as like every individual and being an Indian, I am also expecting the next head could probably be an Indian.
Tailbit: The Tata group has 98 companies with the combined annual revenues of $71 billion with 357,000 employees, was setup in 1868 and it has only once been headed by the non Tata, Sir Nowroji Saklatvala, who joined as a clerk in 1899 and raised as the head eventually through his hardwork.

Attention Kids: A Chemical Gender Bender

Its a global fact that plastics are most harmful for human beings as well as animals and it is almost banned in many public places and hotels. Even though most people are still not aware of that, the usage of plastics in the public places are far reduced especially for the food products and preservatives. But knowingly or unknowingly, we are making our next generation's life in a great risk. I am not telling about the day to day usage of plastics which affects the health, spoils our environment, blah blah blah!!! But a kind of substance called "phthalate", which will be added in the plastic toys used by the kids, have the ability to disrupt the hormones which alters the brain of the baby boys and making them "more feminine". US researchers have reported this shocking news and the more findings are there in the International journal of Andrology. The thing is, phthalates are already banned in toys but however it is widely used in the different household items including plastic furnitures and packaging and especially in the KIDS TOYS. The research has been conducted for the women who gave birth to boys and girls and they were followed up the scientists. Finally they have found that the boys exposed to high levels of these wombs were less likely than other boys to play with rougher games. By the usage of plastics, the world is now facing the great problem which can mean boys are now born with genital abnormalities. This feminism capacity of phthalates makes them true gender benders.

Unfortunately the development in the science will also leads us to great harms and this is one of them. Even though the banners are saying "Say No to Plastics" worldwide, we have ended up it with banners alone and not ready to implement it, which shows our illeteracy and carelessness. Let us create a new phrase "Say No to Plastics!!! Save our Children".

Renault- Nissan Get Set go!

Good news is waiting for all who is having passion with new cars especially for the people who always tries the best with the cheaper cost. At present, the cheapest car in the world is the Indian firm giant Tata’s latest hit NANO ($2000). To beat this record, French car maker Renault with its partner Nissan targeted the Indian market to make the cheapest car than Tata NANO. Renault has planned to make it for India, will cost less to produce than Tata’s NANO. The price of the new car is not yet confirmed and the design and the manufacture will be done by Bajaj while the Renault Nissan will look after the marketing. The car will be planned to launch by 2012 aimed mainly at the Indian market and also exports are a possibility. Renault also says it will be very fuel-efficient. Anyways the healthy competition between the car giants will believe to provide us more and more good and cheaper cars in future. Let’s get ready for the great ride.

Believe it or Not...

As we heard many rumuors, superstitious beliefs about the world and the universe, the latest one which makes crown for all the rumors, makes all the people to talk about is “Will 2012 be an end of the world?” There are many specific reasons for this kind of rumors like Mayan calendar ends by Dec’21, 2012, and the new period will start in this world as we heard many Yuga’s in Hindu mythology. And as well as Nostradamus predictions also says that the world is going to end by 2012. Nostradamus predictions have almost comes true and it resembles the happening of the world such as September 11, 2001 incident, world wars etc. Adding this, the non-confirmed reports saying that there will be a war between India and china by the year 2011-2012 will leads to the third world war. So by considering these things, predictors and analysts are saying that the world will come to an end by 2012. But NASA has recently reported that it’s not an end of the world and said in a question-and-answer posting on its website, “There is no factual basis for these claims.” If such a collision were real, “astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye”. One thing which is very cleared about the rumours is nothing but some people make use of this rumor and making money in different ways by keeping this news as a hot one.

The only good thing happened by this rumor is that we got a wonderful Hollywood movie called “2012” by Rolland Emmerich, which has an extraordinary CG effect and mind blowing performances. So let’s get ready to enjoy the movie.

Rays won the race

Have you ever wondered about the scientific inventions made in the world? Recently a survey on top inventions made till date was conducted by the science museum in London, Should we be asked to comment, most of us would have ended up saying computers, rockets etc., It will be little surprising to hear the result that, leave alone the commercial needs, the first three positions were filled by medical inventions/discoveries. Yes, the X-Ray machine was rated first followed by the discoveries of penicillin and the DNA double helix structure. Out of 50,000 people who were surveyed, one in five people opined that X-ray machine has heavily impacted the past, present and future as x-rays made it possible to look inside the human's body without cutting them open or operating them. And it goes without saying that the invention of X-ray is a huge leap-forward in medical science.
The top ten most rated inventions in the survey are listed below.

1. X-ray machines
2. Penicillin
3. DNA double helix structure
4. Apollo 10 capsule
5. V2 rocket engine
6. Stephenson's rocket
7. Pilot ACE computer
8. Steam engine
9. Model T Ford
10. Electric telegraph

Also the informations about all the above inventions are displayed at the science museum in London. One thing that is so evident from the poll is that people will always vote for innovations that are creative and healthy and not for the ones that threatens the well being of the world.
