Joke of The Day

This is most sensible joke i've ever read just thought of sharing with you people.

God was in the process of creating the universe. And he was explaining his subordinates...

"Look everything should be in balance. For example, after every 10 deer’s there should be a lion. Look here my fellow angels, here is the country of the United States I have blessed them with prosperity and money. But at the same time I have given them insecurity and tension...

And here is Africa. I have given them beautiful nature. But at the same time, I have given them climatic extremes...

And here is South America. I have given them lots of forests. But at the same time, I have given them lesser land so that they would have to cut off the forests... So you see fellows, everything should be in balance.

One of the angels asked... "God, what is this extremely beautiful country here?" God said....... "Ahah...that is the crown piece of all. "INDIA", my most precious creation. It has understanding and friendly people. Sparkling streams, serene mountains. A culture which speaks of the great tradition that they live. Technologically brilliant and with a heart of gold...

The angel was quite surprised "But god you said everything should be in balance."
God replied - "Look at the neighbors, I gave them."

Gender of Computer

A French teacher was explaining to her college class that in French, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine. House is feminine “la maison.” Pencil is masculine “le crayon.”
A student asked, “What gender is computer ?”
Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups male and female - and asked them to decide for themselves whether “computer” should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for their recommendation.
The men’s group decided that “computer” should definitely be of the feminine gender (la computer) because:
1.. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;
2.. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;
3.. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later review; and
4.. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your pay cheque on accessories for it.
The women’s group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine le computer) because:
1.. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;
2.. They have a lot of data but still can’t think for themselves;
3.. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and
4.. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

“Microsoft” – Attention please…

Since the world has become globalized, almost all professionals use Microsoft outlook for their internal email communications. Microsoft outlook is one of the greatest inventory in the kitty of software giant Microsoft. But Outlook has a great flaw in it . And the sad thing is its not debugged and I doubt if the MS people know realize this blunder??? Ok let me first tell you what’s the bug is and try this in your MS outlook.

  1. When you get a new mail in your inbox. Open the mail.
  2. Edit some phrase and add your own text there.
  3. Save the mail now somewhere in your machine.
  4. Open the mail again and see the message. You can see the edited one instead of the original message.

This leads to the chances of misusing the mails and anybody can easily change your words. And they can prove the fake one as an original message either until or unless you have not deleted your sent items. Think how critical a issue this is. Have not the Microsoft people noticed this yet or they don’t have any solution? They have not answered yet. Rather than waiting for them to do some thing about this, Its high time that we do something to be on the safer side.

Pals, please save your important sent items personally to save your dignity and avoid those kind of situations.

Need a Change

Is our education system really imparting values in our people? This still remains an unanswered question for quite a long time now and remains unanswered. We spend almost 20% of our lifetime in studies and some who aspire more may spend even more than that. Our schools mainly focus on rankings and coach students to secure high marks but they care very little about the pupils’ conceptual understanding. Do you really think whether our conventional system provides enough practical education? If there happens a survey on this, a majority will vote in the negative. Sadly, our prime concern is securing marks of 80% and above but we ignore the knowledge part enmasse. And this negligence backfires when our mentally starving youth step out of college in search of a job. A recent survey sheds light at this plight, While the IT industry is in dire need of Professionals, the number of job worthy candidates are too less. And moreover the schools and colleges largely encourage people to become employees and fail to motivate them to aspire to become entrepreneurs. That is why our entrepreneurs quotient are comparatively less and employees quotient is really high a large number of whom does not meet the expectations. So where are we lagging in our education systems? My suggestion to our powerful leaders(!!!) are to bring in a paradigm shift and change the school education practically, based on the knowledge instead of marks. And motivate people to think innovatively, laterally, logically whatever maybe the word. This will help us to produce great employees, entrepreneurs, scientists etc. Hope you will agree with me and feel free to comment if you have different opinions or want to add a few more thoughts.

*I am not saying about all the schools but majority falls.

Girls: Beware of Rohypnol

Inventions are made for the creative process but in a recent days inventions are widely used to destroy the society and is being misused. Especially in the medical field, besides improving day by day, the misusing of drugs leads to the illegal activities and it is spoiling many lives. The banned and pirated drugs plays major role in these kind of issues. The great example for this is “Rohypnol”, which is also termed as “date-rape drug”. Rohypnol, is an essentially a small sterilization pill. The drug is now being used by rapists at parties to rape and sterilize their victims. All they have to do is drop it into the girl's drink. The girl can't remember a thing the next morning, of all that had taken place the night before. Rohypnol, which dissolves in drinks just as easily, is such that the victim doesn't conceive from the rape and the rapist needn't worry about having a paternity test identifying him months later. But the effect of the drug is not temporary, its permanent and the girl who admitted the drug will never get pregnancy in her life time. As far as the western countries, especially United States, the drug is in illegal sale on the roadside and it is abused by high school students, college students, street gang members, rave party attendees and the list goes on. It is found that this drug is widely used in the parties and public places.

Girls, please be aware when you are out and don’t have anything if you are not sure about it.

Make sure that the drinks you have must be unopened or sealed.

Please inform this to all of your friends and relatives and be safe.

Welcome the Evolution

Its an unanimous fact that transgenders are still not recognized and remain estranged by the society. Our politicians should take the responsibilty to make transgenders’ life atleast worthy rather than ignoring them all together. Its praise worthy that some social organizations are showing interests to empower their life but their endeavours are yet to show some conceivable results for it needs a paradigm shift in our mindset and social warmth we extend to them.

I am very proud to be a chennaite, as the Tamilnadu government has taken some radical measures to identify transgenders as a separate sex. Being the first state to take such a leap forward , Tamilnadu will now host a beauty pageant for the transgenders to help the community fight the social stigma. The organizers of the “Miss India contest” for transgenders in Chennai have scheduled the contest on December 19th of 2009 and are expecting around 150 participants across the country. It is India’s maiden beauty pageant for transgenders . It does not stop with this , there are other contests for ‘Miss Beautiful Hair’, ‘Miss Beautiful eyes’, ‘Miss Beautiful skin’ titles as well. The only criterion to stage the cat walk is the person who wish to take part and seize the title(s) will need to declare she is a transgender. Also discussions are already on for conducting various events to spread awareness to improve their standards of living. The organisers plan to expose the participants to health awareness programmes since the community has been found to be a high risk group in the HIV-AIDS index.

I hope this will be a good start for their betterment and we all should accept the fact that they are none other than a human being. Let’s welcome the new evolution and wish them all the success.

*Tamilnadu- One of the state in India.
