Want To Become Rich?

Hello Guys,
We are all wants to get or admire a rich life. But recently I came to heard a story of a rich dad and son. It really makes us to think about the wealthy life. After you read this story, you may think how rich/poor you are. And it is as follows

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from the trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?" "It was great, Dad".

"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.

"Oh yes", said the son. "So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.

The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.

Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants to serve us, but they serve others.

We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."

The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad for showing me how poor we are."

Now think what really you are, Rich or poor???

Harris Jayaraj – Hunt New Tunes

It was a day the movie “minnale” released, it has created the great impact on Tamil music world, just because of its music by debut Harris Jayaraj, followed by a number of massive hits with heart touching melodies and peppy, rock numbers. Since the days are running I don’t know what happened to his innovative tunes. In recent days some of his tunes seems to be repeated again by himself. Few days back “Aadhavan”'s audio has been released and he has composed 6 numbers for the album. Most of the tunes in the album are repeated tunes of Harris. It is really a sad news for his fans. The song “Yaenno panithuli” from Aadhavan resembles “Manjal veyil” from “Vaetayadu Villayadu” and “Illamai ullasam” from”Unnale Unnalae”. Another one “Hasile Fisile” opening lines resembles "Ada gada” from “Sathyam” and “Vaarayo Vaarayo” is a repeated tune from his last Surya starred flick “Ayan’s” “Naenjae Naenjae”. Though his songs are good and well to listen, it makes us to realize his previous hits. What happened to the composer who has given many foot tapping notes? We should have a fresh feel when we hear a new album so that it will reach audience directly. But if we finds it as a repeated one we won’t mind to listen it. Harris! please go for a Minnale era.

Secret Of Sucess

We use lots of electronic gadgets in our day to day life and few of them are electronic geeks. Before purchasing any product we will be very particular about the brand so let’s know about the history of a few behind their brand names.

1. Kodak: Founder George Eastman named the camera and film corporation in 1888. Eastman wanted a short name that was easy to pronounce and could only refer to his products. He later said that he favored the letter “k” because it “seems a strong, incisive sort of letter”. Once Eastman decided he wanted the name to start and end with “k”, he played around with combinations of letters until he found one that he liked in “Kodak.”

2. Sony: When Sony got its start in 1946, it had a decidedly less catchy name – Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo. Within a few years, the company’s founders wanted a new name, so they combined sonus, Latin for “sound” with “Sonny” the term of endearment for a young boy. The newly coined word captured both the superior sound quality and small size the company was shooting for with its products.

3. Nokia: The modern telecom giant hasn’t always been involved in such tech-heavy fields. The company got its start in Tampere, Finland, in 1865 as a pulp mill and paper manufacturer. When owner Fredrik Idestam opened a second plant in Nokia, Finland, in 1868, he decided the town’s name would be better suits his company too. The town takes its name from the Nokianvirta River that flows through it, which in turn takes its name from an archaic Finnish word referring to the small furry animals, mostly sables which lived on the rivers

4. Cisco Systems: The recent addition to the Dow Jones Industrial Average takes its name from San Francisco, where it was founded in 1984.

5. Toshiba: Toshiba formed following the 1939 merger of consumer products company Tokyo Denki with machinery firm Shibaura Seisakusho. By taking the “To” from the former and the “Shiba” from the latter, a new company name was born.

6. Sanyo: Sanyo’s name means “three oceans” in Japanese; the company’s founder wanted to sell his wares across the Indian, Atlantic and Pacific oceans to reach the entire world.

7. Canon: When Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory started developing Japan’s first-ever 35mm camera equipped with a focal plane shutter, the engineers dubbed the creation “Kwanon” after the Buddhist goddess of mercy. At this point the company’s logo even included the thousand-armed goddess. When the camera was ready to roll out worldwide in 1935, the company decided to tweak the name to “Canon” so it would be easier for international markets to accept.

8. Sharp: The electronics manufacturer got it's start in 1912 as metalsmith Tokuji Hayakawa’s personal outlet for his inventions including a specialized snap buckle. In 1915 Hayakawa invented an improved mechanical pencil he dubbed Ever-Sharp and to honor the fine point of his creation, Hayakawa started calling his company “Sharp”.

9. Motorola: Founder Paul Galvin named his company in a twist on the old naming convention of putting “-ola” at the end of phonograph and radio names like the Victrola. Since Galvin and his company were making car radios, he merged “motor” with “-ola” to get the name.

10. Samsung: Samsung got its start in 1938 when Lee Byung-Chull started the “Samsung Store” in Korea. The store initially focused on exporting dried fish and fruit and then jumped into electronics in the 1960s. The name Samsung in Korean is “Three Stars,” a nod to the lucky properties of the number three.

Behind The Screen- POKHRAN Nuclear Test.

As we all know “POKHRAN NUCLEAR TEST”-1998 has special feet in Indian History, here we will reveal some of the interesting trivia which we are not aware widely. The operation was presided under the supervision of our former President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam who was the Scientific Adviser to the Prime Minister at that time and Mr. Chidambaram, the head of the Department of Atomic Energy. And they were co-ordinate by a team of 58th Regiment of the Army Engineering Crops was preparing the test site and scientists of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre were employed in the test. This operation was kept too secret as the American satellites detected the test preparation in 1995. So it was decided that preparations for the May 1998 tests should be undertaken under a cloud of secrecy so that foreign powers could not detect the preparations. Effective measures were taken in order to deceive intelligence agencies around the world. Only our honorable Prime Minister Mr A.B.Vajpayee, Home Minister Mr L.K.Advani and External Affairs Minister Mr Jaswant Singh were aware of this test. Among the army people, Indian Army Commander Mr Joginder Jaswant Singh and National Security Adviser Mr Brajesh Mishra. The Finance Minister and the Defense Minister were given 48 hours' notice. DRDO were employed in assembling the nuclear reactors, weapons and transporting them to Pokhran. Placing them into shafts in the ground and laying a network of sensors to gather data during the explosions. The engineers were aware of the American satellites which always monitoring us, so most of the work was done at night and heavy equipments were always returned to the same parking spot at dawn so that satellite image analysts would conclude that the equipments were never moved. The piles of dug out were in the shape of mimic the wind shaped dune forms in deserts. The cables for sensors were laid and they were covered with sand and native vegetation was replaced to conceal the digging. The shafts were dug under camouflage netting. The scientists who were working for this operation were too cautious that even their colleagues and close friends would not know their work for the test. The scientists who were working in this did not depart to Pokhran simultaneously, but left in small groups. One group would pretend to attend as conference and seminars and would tell their wives that they could not be contacted while they were away. Tickets were bought for a destination other than Pokhran (or cities nearby) under pseudonyms, and after arriving at their destination, the group would secretly leave for the military base in Jaisalmer from where they would be taken by the army to Pokhran. After finishing their work, the group would return, retracing their path. Then another group would leave for the range employing similar means to do their work. By this way, information about the test was kept tightly under wraps. All technical staff at the range wore military fatigues, so that in satellite images they would appear to be military personnel maintaining the test range. Besides this work, in separate meetings with American officials, the foreign secretary K.Raghunath and Defense Minister George Fernandez stated that India had not yet decided about going nuclear and they also conveyed to the officials that the National Security Council would be meeting soon to discuss the matter and decide about the nuclear option. The council was to meet on the 26th of May. Both the Indian officials had categorically told the Americans that "there would not be any surprise testing". All these led the Americans and the world community to believe that India was not going to pursue the nuclear option in the near future. They did not take the BJP's campaign promises seriously and hence did not expect an Indian nuclear test so soon and we proved our power to this world.

WINDOWS 7- A Come Back

The World’s most popular operating system is once again setting their foot with their new edition WINDOWS-7. Actually Microsoft had a miserable experience with their previous edition Vista which failed in the market 3 years ago. So they have taken at most care for their new product which is going to hit the market soon (legally).Microsoft has also told that Customers who buy a new PC with Vista will be offered upgrades to Windows 7.

Microsoft's Steve Guggenheimer said: "We've received great feedback from our partners who are looking forward to offering Windows 7 to their customers in time for the holidays."

Mr Guggenheimer said that Microsoft will make an upgrade option available, so PC makers and retail partners can offer customers the ability to purchase a Windows Vista-based PC and install Windows 7 when it is released. He also added that Windows 7 will also have "comparable system requirements"

Windows 7 is expected to be a good come back of Microsoft. Because it promises the usability improvement and simplification of security measures as it caused the frustration in users who used vista. Thunder BOLT

Can anybody think that a person would cross 100mts in 9.58 seconds and 200mts in 19.19 seconds? A 23 years old young has set the records of the above. The unstoppable Jamaican Usain Bolt holds the world records of 9.58s in 100mts, formerly by 9.69s and 19.19s in 200mts. Not only this as well as 14.35s in 150mts, 45.28s in 400mts. He would be very relaxed and comfortable in the stadium before he starts his incomparable races. When he was asked about his cool mentality, “I was saying, ‘I look cool,’ ” he said “I was just happy. I was just looking at myself and I was like, ‘That guy’s fast.’ I’m just proud of myself. It’s just a great feeling. I can’t really explain it.” Before Bolt’s career started, Michael Johnson, the great athlete who holds many world records including 200mts was our hero and as the famous quote states “Records are made to be broken”, Johnson’s was broken by Bolt and now all are comparing him with Johnson. But Bolt replied that he really doesn’t like comparing himself and Johnson, just because he trying to be himself and Johnson was a great athlete who revolutionized the sport and Bolt just changed it a little bit. Anyways it is acceptable that he made a tremendous effort to done this. Obviously from the race, he can go faster than the 9.69s in the Beijing Olympics. But we all knew he was having fun in the last 20m, celebrating and breaking the world record. That's awesome. But he can probably go under 9.58 in his forthcoming races, but I am not very good at predictions. I just love to see things unfold. And for sure records are made to be broken; let’s see who will break Bolt’s 9.58s and 19.19s records in the future.

Happy Birthday Chennai

Its time to celebrate this weekend with Chennai. Yes, our Chennai city is having another birthday bash today. Let's see some of the identities of ancient Chennai which are museum, marina beach, st.george fort etc including latest metro rail. But our city is changing with times and now we got some new identities for our city and they are peak hour traffic jam, hot sunny summer, cine malls, IT corridor and the list goes on. We people in this heritage city have also changed with times. As our city lost some of our identities, we also start to lose our identity. We lost our culture, mannerism and well disciplined behaviour in the long travel of the city. It’s one of the safest place in our country and we don’t have any external force to create problem in our city but ourselves. We pollute the city, we just don’t care about it and we exploit by misusing its resources. The worst case is nowadays beaches are becoming strictly prohibited area for children. And I don’t want to mention about the ECR, as you people aware what ECR is famous for. But apart from all these things, Still Chennai is a very secular city and is a mass of classes. People from any class can run their life sophisticatedly with their income. And our city has given people who brought all the richest awards to add a feather in our crown. Dr.Sir.C.V.Raman-noble prize. Our Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan got the prestigious honorary, one day-mayor of New York and he was the second Indian who got this honor after Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. And the latest is Mozart of Madras, music director A.R.Rehman has got two academy awards and one golden globe. When compared to other metro-politan cities, we are well built and very cool. Let us feel proud to be a part of our city.
