Yes, in a recent research made by Dr. Sei Lee of San Francisco VA Medical Centre and colleagues have found that moderate drinkers are wealthier and more educated than others, also moderate alcohol consumers have a long life which was concluded in the new study. A drink a day mitigates a person’s risk of dying over the next 4 years. After undergoing various experiment and study and also accounting for several factors that affect alcohol use, they found that moderate alcohol consumers were still 28% less likely to die than non-drinkers. The study on this issue was first published in 1923. But still there is a confusion going on in this topic that moderate drinkers are healthier than non-drinkers, or alcohol itself used in moderation benefit health? So in order to get a conclusion for this study they have looked at 12,519 men and women who are aged 55 and older. During the 4 years of follow up, 14% of non-drinkers died, where as 7% of moderate drinkers and 12% of people who consumed 3 or more pegs a day also died. At the end of the day Lee and his colleagues found that people who had a peg a day had a higher socioeconomic status than the non-drinkers as measured by wealth, income and years of education. And an additional information which was concluded in the study was non-drinkers were also more likely to have functional disabilities like difficulties in dressing up themselves, to defeacate and the list goes on. So Drink Less and Stay Healthy. Make sure you dont cross limits. Cheers!!!!!!!!

GOD ONLY KNOWS!!!
Are Indians again got struck in match fixing?
I think you people wouldn’t have forgotten the T-20 World cup Championship which was hosted by England few months ago. In that tournament our Indian team was miserably sent out with super eight. But now the mystery behind that is coming out. In an interview to a leading newspaper Indian Lacto KING has said that “I never thought that I would get involved in match fixing but the amount was huge and I couldn’t control myself” he also added that he takes all the responsibility and the other three key players also co-operated with him by going with his words. They have also told that “we lost to south Africa to prove that we are not in form but this match was not fixed”
But an initial report tells us that Indian spinner has initiated the deal. When he was produced in front of the enquiry chair person he loosens the lays that “the key batsmen of the team started everything so when the top players involved in this why shouldn’t I earn money” (this was a nice justification given for a noble cause!) also he added that “even the most popular first class T20 tournament are being fixed”. One more tail bit info is the board has given a huge amount to get easy teams for us in the league matches!!!! When I read this info I got Bernard Shaw’s famous quote on cricket “11 fools are playing and 11 thousand fools are watching “ but now only the second half is becoming true

Jai Ho!!!!!!! Failed To Be....
Jai ho once again captured the top lines of all newspapers & journals few weeks ago. But this time it failed to make a mark in the history. The word which got the international accreditation by our Rehman Contested in one more competition it was the war of the words that who is going to be the “One Millionth Word” of the Global Language Monitor. As everyone knows English is the one with the borrowed words and still it’s getting words from everywhere in the universe (that’s why it might be termed as universal language???).And the race for the millionth English word finally comes to an end with Web 2.0 winning it.Austin, Texas-based global language tracker, announced the lucky word!!!!. Web 2.0 is defined as a technical term which means “the next generation of World Wide Web products and services”. It has crossed from technical jargon into far wider circulation in the last six months.
And one more interesting thing is the other words which contested in the competition were Jaiho, noob, Slumdog and cloudcomputing. The two Indian words which are extracted from the film failed to make history and the interesting fact is Jaiho- 999,999th word and slumdog- 999,997th word.
In addition, to this 1,000,001st word is Financial Tsunami - The global financial restructuring that seemingly swept out of nowhere, wiping out trillions of dollars of assets, in a matter of months
Tail bit: At Global Language Monitor current rate, English generates about 14.7 words a day or one every 98 minutes.

YET ANOTHER TEAM IN IPL
As BCCI has announced that , it may include some new teams in the third season of IPL. Keralite’s are the first to enter in to the competition. Veteran director priyadarshan has joined hands with his childhood buddy and kerala star Mohanlal, to form thier new IPL team for thier soil. He also adds that there are lots of youngsters in Kerala and Tamilnadu waiting to get a break. They have the talent but lack of exposure and world class training facilities. Now they both are working towards their dream with the tacit support of Kerala cricket association, affiliated to BCCI. Mohanlal, says “we’re trying to nurture local talent as the most successful IPL. The duo has roped in Shashi Tharoor, the new union minister of state for External Affairs as chairman of thier team, to be called city cricketers. Two NRIs and a few corporate are willing to fund the project which cost around 250 crores. Former Indian player and fielding coach Robin Singh has been signed as the technical director, “ the KCA will approach the BCCI with our proposal and if all goes well we will start our IPL innings next year” concludes Priyadarshan.

Where they went wrong?
In spite of having a good & strong alliance miss.Jayalalitha failed to make a mark in the parliamentary elections 2009. Even though the opposition alliance was very weak and the ruling party had a lot of flaws with them. But still she was unable to finish with a decent total. This is being a big question among the party men. Miss.Jayalalitha was considered as the front runner and the king maker before the poll results were announced. Even congress men were ready to pack AIADMK in their alliance. But what happened they were pushed to a pathetic stage of just winning only 9 seats. The reasons behind their failures are the three main reasons
· DMDK
· Wrong strategy of campaigning
The first big disaster was DMDK. The party contested in all 40 seats but faced a huge failure even then they have split the anti-DMK votes. Which was initially went to AIADMK. DMDK decided the winning side in 14 constituencies. And they are
· Virudhu nagar, Villupuram , Sriperumbudur
· Theni, Kallakuruchi, Nagapatinam
· Krishnagiri , Siva Gangai, Chennai (central)
· Cuddalore, Tirunelveli , Chennai (north)
· Kanchipuram, Dindigul
In this article I too want to mention the words of the senior journalist Mr.Cho Ramaswamy he said “DMDK is not an alternate for the both Dravidian giants. Those who think it as a alternate are fooling themselves”.
So AIADMK failed to explain the people that votes to DMDK is hopeless and it has no value. If they would have explained this successfully their winning margin would be increased.
The next important reason is miss.Jayalalitha’s wrong strategy of campaign. Actually there are lots of complaints against the ruling party in the state like frequent power cut; high bus fare, rise of inflation etc. but she took the wrong issue in her hand for campaigning and that is Sri Lankan Tamil issue. She concentrated on it more than that of the day today problem which didn’t reach the people properly.
As the assembly elections are ahead Miss.Jayalalitha has to bring DMDK in her allies or she should split the opposition allies if she can make any one of the thing possible. She is sure to get the power.

ARE WE SOFTWARE PIRATES?
I was a bit hesitant in writing this post because in one of my previous posts I myself had said that I would give you software cracks if you need. But I decided against it and thought I have to admit my mistake. In a few months, I will be a software engineer myself but I do not know how many days it will take for a programmer to develop a software. Why i say this is because, just if you think for a minute the number of original software's you have installed in your system you will get the answer. Piracy is everywhere; movies, songs, games and even software. So are we doing justice? What is software piracy, exactly?
It is the unauthorized duplication, distribution or use of computer software — for example, making more copies of software than the license allows, or installing software licensed for one computer onto multiple computers or a server.
Its so prevalent here that almost no one pays for software and hence the SW companies do not have revenue motive to localize their software for India. A further study revealed that 63% of all PCs in India ship with pirated Windows!!!! A person who is ready to use a pirated OS, will surely not pay for any other software he installs on that box. So this can lead to millions of dollars lost in revenue for the SW companies.
Its so bad that frankly till date I have never seen a home user using a legitimate copy of Windows. Even I don’t have one. I think that this is because of the economy of our country. Also, what I think when I download a software from internet is, “why should I buy a software because already I am paying for the internet access?”. And we don’t want to spend on software's when we have lot of other things to spend on.
This is not only my perception, most of us think that way.
Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) is really a very good initiative to encourage people to buy originals. As the name suggests it has several advantages. I think business giants should bring more commercial software markets in India and sell original software's at lesser price. This not only gives direct access to software but also is an alternative for today’s online purchase.
My resolution :
I have resolved that next time when I buy a laptop or a PC, surely I will install an original operating system and at least have 30% of my software's original. So, what do you think?. Will you also take the same resolution? Say what you think about this?
