Enthiran hits the headlines once again. This time it is for the location the song “Kilimanjaro” in the film which features the lead pair Rajinikanth and Aishwarya rai Bachchan which was shoot in the Machu Picchu in Peru. This is one of the new 7 wonders of the world. They denied the permission for James Bond’s Quantum of Solace shot but really surprising that how Shankar and Kalanidhi Maran combo got the permission from Peruvian authorities to shot in their most beautiful location. Another interesting fact director Shankar has already shot his previous movie Jeans in all the wonders of the world (old one) with Aishwarya rai Bachchan. When our sources contacted Shankar he states that “it was only when we landed there, that we discovered that ours is the first film to be shot in the wonder locale” he also adds that “ It was a very weird bite, which left us feeling suffocated and breathless. Even after we returned to India, the people who were bitten would suddenly feel suffocated. And if that wasn’t bad enough, rashes with red spots from the insect bites were visible for weeks after” anyway we all got a very nice opportunity to see the new wonder in celluloid.

Jay Dhingra (Imran Khan the hero of the movie) turns up his nose at anything that remotely resembles sentimental even though he works as an assistant to a film maker (Samir Soni) who is the most improbable mush on screen. Enter, the new art director, Simran Sharma (Sonam Kapoor) diehard romantic, she even has a perfect boyfriend called Raj (Samir Dattani) who gifts her a white chrysanthemum( white flower) each time he meets her. Nothing new in the movie, an usual stuffs. The story is very simple and predictable. It’s just like amir n preety love affair story in Dill Chahta Hai. imran and sonam both have a done a great job, good chemistry between them. Awesome pair J Samir Soni's spoof on Karan Johar & Sanjay Leela Bhansali is cute. Samir Dattani is supposed to be a bore no. The dialogues are very ordinary. Music by vishal sekhar mostly peppy numbers. At last an Usual KJo’s movie.

The director has given us wonderful script which keeps up the momentum for 2 hours. Maddy alias Madhavan had a big year of 2009 with his 3 Idiots and he is more than happy about being part of it. Even though Aamir Khan was captain of the ship, maddy is quite happy learning from him. And he is looking forward for his release Teen Patti where he is sharing his screens with Amitabh Bachchan and Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley of "Gandhi" fame. Madhavan is very selective about his projects, he is not accepting the offers just like that. In an recent interview he revealed that he got a opportunity once in life time to work with both of his role models in a single project. Maybe that's because of he came a long way. He started out with veteran director Mani Ratnam, then Kamal Haasan, last project with Aamir Khan and now its Amitabh Bachchan. Definitely, he is going in the right direction. He is one of the biggest stars in South India, but he is not yet played any lead role in Bollywood (but few unnoticed), of course he does 13B but it made him familiar but he is a long way more to go. Although he is playing roles with legends, he needs to be noticed separately as an individual performer. I hope he will achieve it soon as he did in Kollywood. Best wishes to Maddy. Keep going!!!

The “Mozart of Madras” A.R.Rehman has been nominated for the 82^nd Academy Awards. The composer’s first fully fledged Hollywood commitment “Couples Retreat” has fetched him the nomination. The song from the movie “Na Na” has been nominated in the Best Original Song category the song was penned by Rehman himself and with rapper Blaze, Vivian Chaix and the song is sung by Alim, Clinton and Dominic along with the trio. The news was confirmed by Mr.Rehman himself during the background score launch in chennai and the album comprises of 6 songs. The special feature of the album is it has a Tamil song in it called “Kuru Kuru Kangalilae” which is penned and sung by Mr.Rehman. The Hollywood movie is been directed by Peter Billingsley and the plot of the movie is it revolves around 4 couples trying to reconnect with each other. The legendary music director won 2 Academy Awards last year in Best Original Song Category and Best Soundtrack for the movie “Slumdog Millionaire”.

Aayirathil Oruvan: The one among the thousand

First of all, I would like to congratulate and appreciate the "Aayirathil Oruvan" team for their tremendous effort to made such a film. The film breaks all the Kollywood formulas and tried to show the superiority of the Tamil history. The film Aayirathil Oruvan is an historical as well as archaeological one which tells about the journey to find the hideouts, is fraught with traps, some laid by the fleeing Cholas. The first half of the movie is filled with adventurous fun and it is Karthi, who'd stolen the credit. Even though some of the scenes were inspired by Mckenna's Gold, the director doesn't let the audience to think about it with his pace in the screenplay. After the intermission, the pace turns out the face-to-face encounter with the survived King of the Chola kingdom, played by Parthiban. No body could say that he has acted in the film, instead he has lived as a King on the screen. And the movie moves like an arrow from the bow when Anitha turns out to be a descendant of the Pandya kingdom. Those who read the Tamil veteran writer Kalki's "Ponniyin Selvan", could able to realize about Anitha's characterization in the movie which utmost resembled Nandhini's character in the novel. Anitha comes through a pale second, despite brilliant acting by Reema Sen. And the scenes of rape by soldiers is definitely a clear comment on LTTE vs. SriLankan army and out of place. Karthi and seductress Andrea were lost in the second half, by an excellent performance by Parthiban and Reema Sen. The movie ended up with lot of unanswered questions such as who(m) is the one who deserves the title? But definitely the credit should go to Parthiban or Reema, and the end card with "Cholan Payanam Thodarum", which apparently says about the sequel. Apart from the director two others share the credits they are Cinematographer Raamji who gave a visual treat and composer G.V.Prakash Kumar who gave life to the movie by his marvellous background score.But the director has to answer it. On the whole I can rate the movie as 4 out of 5 and hats-off to Selvaraghavan for letting us to hear good Tamil.

Here the news I am going to tell here is really makes you piss off!!! Now it’s the season of Avatar flu and the movie is now heading to set the new history in the world movies and the fruit he gets will make him to survive even in his next life too. But can you believe that the story line of Avatar might be stolen or be inspired from anybody's creation? Yes its hard to believe, but you will find it out if you read the "Noon Universe" by the Soviet Union Science Fiction writers Arkady and Boris Strugatsky . The novel written in the year 1960 and there exists a great similarities between the movie and the novel, which are the name Pandora, a green and lushly forested planet and the events of both take place in 22nd century. Arkady has died in 1991 and his existing brother Boris Strugatsky stated that he hasn't yet seen the movie and so couldn't comment on it, when he was asked about the similarities. However James Cameroon had denied ripping off any ideas and said the the sci-fi flick was his own imagination. He also told that he is having trilogy for the movie, Sam Worthington is signed for it.

Recently I came across a mail which was very interesting it’s about “Self Appraisal” thought of sharing it with you people. Because Self Appraisal is meant to boost our confidence and it is a good way of self motivation. So it keeps us high in our work place. Let’s get into the mail.

A little boy went to a telephone booth which was at the cash counter of a store and dialed a number.
The store-owner observed and listened to the conversation:

Boy : "Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your lawn?
Woman : (at the other end of the phone line) "I already have someone to cut my lawn."
Boy : "Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price than the person who cuts your lawn now."
Woman : I'm very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting my lawn.
Boy : (with more perseverance) "Lady, I'll even sweep the floor and the stairs of your house for free.
Woman : No, thank you.

With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver. The store-owner, who was listening to all this, walked over to the boy.

Steven Spielberg's Movie on First World War

World war-1 is soon going to be a full length movie. The ace director Steven Spielberg after making the most successful “Saving The Private Ryan” which is based on World War-2 portraying the band of brothers. The movie was produced by his production house and was a major block buster of the year. So now he is getting ready to venture with the First World War this time he is teaming up with Academy Award winner Lee Hall of “Billy Elliot” fame. This time the film maker has purchased the rights of the book “Warhorse” which depicts the relationship between the relationships between a boy and his horse in the back drop of First World War. The book was written by Michael Morpurgo's in the year 1982. Spielberg has asked Lee Hall to adapt the screenplay from the book. He is going to finance the movie. When the director spoke about the project he said that “From the moment I read the book, I knew this was a film I wanted to make. Its heart and its message provide a story that can be felt in every country.” Well will it make wonders on screen?

Bollywood is on top gear now with a project on gay love story, which is never ever happened in Indian history (I hope Dostana never comes under the list). For the very first time, Sanjay Sharma has taken this controversial issue to make a movie “Dunno Y... Na Jaane Kyun” deals with a serious man-to-man relationship. You may get surprised on hearing this, but as per the Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, it is legal in India (?), says director. Anil Sharma’s brother Kapil Sharma is playing the lead role (!!!) though he had some hesitations to take up the project, the role will connect to the strugglers and the script had developed the cold feet on him, he agreed the gay role of Aryan without making any compromising with the script. The actor have really faced some real-time incidents when he took inputs from his gay friends while attended some gay parties to observe their lifestyle and got hit by the one (Thank God!!!). The film makers are more confident about doing it and even they are making some bold scenes also. The film is set to release by this summer and I really doubt whether the audiences will accept this or not, but the film makers are damn sure about it to hit the screens.

Yet Another High Drama!

You may think that the title itself seems to be idiotic and really whose story is the movie "3 Idiots". Before the movie was released, every common individual (including the Author of the novel) believed that the story is based on the bestseller "Five Point Someone" and the talks were being held for almost an year. But after the release, movie makers have completely disagreed with this and they wore a sole coat for the story and no one is ready to accept that the movie which had some inspiration from the novel. Only the common people who have seen the movie as well as read the novel, have the rights to comment on it I guess. Now I have the rights to comment here since I have done both. It is completely acceptable that the screenplay of the movie is totally changed and it never resembled the FPS novel. But the fact is the storyline as well as some of the knots in the movie are tied from the novel and I don't know why Aamir Khan and Hirani are not ready to accept it. Frankly telling, the plot of the story, the narration, and the definition for "machine" etc., are same as the book. But Aamir had accused Chetan Bhagat trying to steal the credit from the storywriter of the movie and vice versa. But I wonder why the film makers didn't speak out that the story is their own and not based on any novel before the movie was released and why did they have contract with Chetan as per his words? However it maybe, it is appreciable that the film makers haven't done any copy, paste stuff (if they had really inspired from the novel) and the movie is really a feel good category, 100% entertainer. Even the controversies are the great boost-up for the movie's publicity and it really falls under one of the greatest ever hits of Aamir Khan.

What would be the result of the movie if it had a pair of two extremes? Your answer for this question is what exactly going to happen. Yes, the bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan and the beauty queen Aishwarya Rai are going to hit the big screen very soon. We never forget the super icons' romantic soap opera was pulled in the dirt at the Chalte Chalte shoots and rumoured that Salman Khan got drunk and misbehaved with her former love Ash in the sets, and abused SRK when he intervened etc., Consequently Ash was kicked out of the film by the star producer SRK by stating that it had no apologies and replaced Rani Mukherjee. It should be noted that the king khan was not invited for Abhishek-Ash marriage. Amitab to be starred as "Dalai Lama"

If sources are to be believed senior Bachchan and Jr.Bachchan will be starred together in a Hollywood movie which will be directed by a French director Jan Kounen and the projected will be funded by Manuel de la Roche, the Paris based producer. The project has been titled as “The Secret History of the Dalai Lamas.” The director will approach the Bachchan’s soon for the pivotal role in the movie. In an interview Roche revealed that “The film will trace the history of the Dalai Lamas all the way from 14th century. It will blend dramatized re-enactments involving the earlier incarnations with excerpts from an interviews with the current Dalai Lama.” The movie also stars Hollywood’s gorgeous girl Sharon Stone and Richard Gere. According to the director the movie will start to role by early 2010 and the film will be shot in Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh and some other parts in Indian sub continent. The movie will reach the theatres by the end of 2010. Roche also said that “are very keen to cast the father and son duo in key roles in the film. Sharon Stone will step in as the narrator, while Hollywood star Richard Gere will also be involved with the project.” The father son duo has already starred together in Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and the recent flick Pa.

In the recent report it is found that “Star Trek” is the most pirated film of the year. The studio told the Federal Communications Commission that “Star Trek” is the hottest property in the piracy market the news was confirmed by Frederick Huntsberry, the studio's chief operating officer. The source from Torrent Freak revealed that “Star Trek” has been downloaded about 11 million times last year. “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” stands second by 10.6 million downloads. The two films was a huge success in box- office. “RocknRolla”is ranked No.3 which was directed by Guy Ritchie's of “Sherlock Holmes” fame. The most interesting buzz is that “Wolverine” ranked as No.9 with 7.2 million downloads. FBI has arrested a man last week for the violation of federal copyright law while he was uploading the movie.

Its time to say Good Bye to the past and welcome the new year 2010. Like any other thing, cine field with full of magic and virtuality, also welcomes the new year with new beginnings and hollywood or bollywood are no exceptions. Of course 2009 had filled the box office hits worldwide with big films such as Roland Emmerich's 2012, James Cameron's sci-fi dream project Avatar, much awaited installment series Terminator Salvation etc., bags a huge millions and some are still running successfully. When it comes to bollywood, 2009 was the amazing year for the cine-gods especially for Khans. Obviously Aamir Khan has given bollywood's biggest ever hit Ghajini and his latest humorous bomb 3 Idiots makes the biggest collection in his history. but it hasn't met the expectation for King Khan SRK since his Billu was not up to the mark. But it is expected that 2010 will be the good one for king of bollywood, Karan Johar's much awaiting "My Name Is Khan" is going to hit the screens. Aamir khan is once again back in the lime light for his latest release “3 Idiots” which is creating wonders in box- office. For Aamir it is a Hat Trick hit after his directional debut “Taare Zameen Par” and “Ghajini” which was released in the December of 2007 and 2008. “3 Idiots” has been distributed by Relaince BIG Entertainment with 2000 prints and the movie already earned Rs. 4 crores through paid reviews. Kamal Gianchandani, head of domestic distribution of Reliance BIG Pictures, told that the movie was first screened by 6pm on Thursday despite of the cricket match the show was filled up by the audience. Earlier Aamir’s directional venture “Taare Zameen Par” which was released on December 21, 2007 had grossed Rs. 37 crores in box- office and his next project “Ghajini” which was released by December 25, 2008 grossed over Rs.200 crores in box- office. But Aamir denied that he is not a superstitious person it was a mere coincidence that his last three releases happened to be in December he also adds that “Ghajini was supposed to be an October release, but it had to be postponed to December because I was injured”. Shahrukh now takes “Super Hero” avatar in his next venture to entertain people. His next project is titled as “Ra.1” which will be produced by his home production Red Chillies Entertainment. In this venture sexy Bebo Kareena will be starred opposite to him. The pair was casted last in Santosh Sivan’s “Ashoka” in 2001. Due to the bitter past Kareena opted out of Karan Johar’s “Kal Ho Na Ho”. With changing times Kareena resolved her rift with SRK and made special appearances in his “Billu” and “Don”. But now sources confirm that Kareena is roped into the project. The script of the movie will be penned by Hollywood’s famous writer-director David Benullo of “Around The World in 80 Days” fame and the project will be directed by Anubhav Sinha who had already directed movies like “Tum Bin, Cash” in the past. Anubhav also added that this will be not a routine Bollywood movie it will have some extra- ordinary visual effects and sound effects. The shoot of the movie started by March 28 2009 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and locations also includes Mangaratiba, Niteroi, Guanabara Bay and Parque Lage. The budget of the movie is estimated as $70 million and the movie is produced under the banner of Lionsgate Entertainment, Millennium Films and NU image.
